Sarah Chen, MD, is originally from Cary, North Carolina, and is a proud University of North Carolina Tar Heel, where she earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees. Early in her training, she discovered a passion for cardiac surgery and was immediately drawn to the precision, complexity, and artistry of the specialty.
Dr. Chen’s clinical interests include aortic surgery, structural heart disease, and coronary revascularization. While she is passionate about advancing the field of cardiac surgery, her greatest commitment is to providing exceptional patient care. She believes that cardiac surgery extends far beyond the technical aspects of an operation—it is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments. She considers it a privilege and an honor to care for patients through these experiences.
