Barbara Geller, RNFA, ANP-C admin 2014-05-13T10:05:44+00:00Barbara, an Austin native, graduated from the University of Texas in Galveston in 1978 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After working for Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeons as a clinic nurse from 2002-2006, she returned to graduate school at the University of Texas at Houston and obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing in 2008. As an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she brings to CTVS a wealth of 34 years of experience as a registered nurse in the operating room, intensive care unit and clinic nursing. Most of her nursing career has been spent in the perioperative arena, with her focus on cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. After working as an advanced practice nurse in cardiology for one year post graduate school, she rejoined Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeons practice in 2009 as a RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) ANP-C (Adult Nurse Practitioner-Certified). In addition to collaborating with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons and other consulting physicians, educating and preparing the patient and family for upcoming procedures has been paramount to her practice.
